Strategy Plan Review at Christchurch
On Saturday 4 May, a group travelled down to Christchurch to spend time with our whānau and discuss the Strategic Plan and their aspirations for future. The hui was held at the Sudima Christchurch Airport Hotel and led by one of our Kaitiaki, Brent Matuku, with support from our Pouwhakahaere. The hui was attended by 22 of our whānau and started with an overview of the strategic plan along with video footage to demonstrate how the Rūnanga has implemented the strategy over the last 5 years. It was a real privilege to sit with our whānau and listed to concerns and aspirations.
The key discussions from the hui can be summarised into 3 key areas:
- Connection – local connection with Ngāti Mutunga whānau was important, as well as opportunities to connect with our rohe and whānau in Taranaki.
- Education – local opportunities to learn more about whakapapa, tikanga, karakia, waiata, and reo
- Communication – receiving regular communication about Ngāti Mutunga kaupapa that are happening locally and in Taranaki
We appreciated all the feedback received and input provided by everyone. We encourage all whānau to participate in the next Strategy Review sessions that will be held in the following locations and on the following dates:
- Saturday 6 July, Wellington
- Saturday 3 August, Auckland
- Saturday 17 August, Urenui
