2021 Education Grants for semester one now open

Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Mutunga invites Ngāti Mutunga uri who are formally enrolled in a New Zealand or International University, Polytechnic, Institute of Technology, Wānanga, Trade, and/or Private Training Establishment to apply for a Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Mutunga Education Grant.

Education Grants are open to all registered iwi members.

The closing date for the Education Grants is Friday 21st May 2021 at 5.00pm.

COURSES OF STUDY ELIGIBLE FOR EDUCATION GRANTS

PRE-BACHELOR/UNDERGRADUATE OR TRADE GRANTS

These grants are available to students who are enrolled in programmes at certificate/diploma level, or enrolled in trade related qualifications.

BACHELOR/UNDERGRADUATE GRANTS

Degree:  These grants are available to students who are enrolled at an accredited educational provider and studying towards a bachelor/undergraduate degree.

Honours Year:  These grants are available to students who have completed a bachelor/undergraduate degree, but qualify for and are undertaking their last year of study at Honours level.

GRADUATE/POSTGRADUATE GRANTS

Graduate Diploma or Postgraduate Diploma:  These grants are available to students who are enrolled in a graduate diploma or postgraduate diploma.

Masters Degree: These grants are available to students who are enrolled in papers and/or a thesis at Masters level.

PhD/Doctoral Studies: These grants are available to students who are enrolled in a Doctoral programme such as PhD.
Students of other doctoral programmes for example taught or professional programmes at doctoral level are also eligible to apply for grants.

 

OTHER INFORMATION

GRANT CONDITIONS

Applicants will be ineligible to apply for another Education Grant the year following a successful application. Grants are awarded to a single successful applicant a maximum of four (4) times.  For example, in 2011 an applicant is granted an Undergraduate Grant and granted another in 2013 for a Masters, then again in 2015 for a PhD/Doctorate.

APPLICANT INELIGIBILITY

Students enrolled in free courses are ineligible for a Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Mutunga Education Grant.
